JAFIE Held Symposium on Sino-US Relations under New Biden Administration

On January 16, 2021, Jiangsu Associationfor Friendship and International Exchanges (JAFIE) held Yangtze RiverInternational Forum & “Symposium on the Trend and Features of the Sino-USRelations under New Biden Administration” at the conference hall of JAFIE. Thisevent was co-hosted by Xinhua Daily Media Group Jiangsu Economic News Agency.For the conference, Prof. Zhao Quansheng from School of International Relationsof American University, Chairman of the Asian Studies Council and the convenerof Global Chinese Politician Forum, Louis W. Goodman, Emeritus Dean of Schoolof International Affairs and Professor of International Relations of AmericanUniversity, Steve Hill, Co-chair of the “Department of Global White CollarCrime and Government Investigation” of Dentons, and Mark Califano, Partner ofWashington Office of Dentons and Managing Partner Jason Silverman were invitedto give video keynote speeches respectively. Si Jinquan, Vice Chairman of JAFIEand former Director of the Foreign Affairs Committee of Jiangsu ProvincialPeople’s Congress addressed the conference. Besides, Prof. Cai Jiahe, Standing CouncilMember of JAFIE and Professor of The Johns Hopkins University-Nanjing UniversityCenter for Chinese and American Studies, served as the academic host of theSymposium on “The Trend and Characteristics of the Biden Administration’sPolicy Toward China”. Lawyer Chen Litong,Council Member of JAFIE and the seniorpartner of Dentons (Shanghai) Law Firm, served as the academic host of theSymposium on “the Risk Prevention and Control for China's ‘Going-out’Enterprises and Citizens Overseas under New Biden Administration”. Yang Yong,Vice Chairman of JAFIE and Director of the Personnel Representative LiaisonCommittee of Jiangsu Provincial People’s Congress, Shao Weiming, Vice Chairmanof JAFIE and Director of the Foreign Affairs Committee of Jiangsu ProvincialPeople’s Congress, Zhao Zhengchi, Standing Council Member of JAFIE and memberof the Foreign Affairs Committee of Jiangsu Provincial People’s Congress, WangPing, Standing Council Member of JAFIE and Deputy Director of the StandingCommittee of NPC of Zhenjiang City, and related personnel in charge of theprovincial and municipal departments concerned, partial council members ofJAFIE, representatives from the legal and business circles in Nanjing City,etc., over 40 people in total, attended the seminar on site with over 3300people engaged online, as indicated by the background terminal statistics.
