President Lin Xiangguo attended 2022 “Belt and Road” Forum on International Cooperation and Development of Agricultural Modernization

On November 18th, 2022, Mr. LinXiangguo, Chairman of JAFIE, was invited to attend the “Belt and Road” Forum onInternational Cooperation and Development of Agricultural Modernization held inZhenjiang and delivered a speech at the opening ceremony. The Forum was hostedby Jiangsu University, the standing director institute of JAFIE.

ChairmanLin highly appraised the forum, believing it as “a good opportunity to deepeninternational cooperation in modern agriculture and a new opportunity topromote high-quality development of the ‘Belt and Road’."

Asaddressed in Chairman Lin’s speech, in recent years, JAFIE, while holding highthe work philosophy of “serving the overall diplomatic situation of thecountry”, has deeply practiced the “Belt and Road” initiative. Adhering to thework mode of “parallel development of both official and non-governmentalactivities, with equal emphasis placed on exchanges and research”, JAFIE hascarried out wide-ranging, multiform and friendly exchanges flexibly withforeign countries, constantly enriched the form and content of the“parliamentary diplomacy” practiced by Jiangsu Provincial People’s Congress,and actively expanded the field of public diplomacy in Jiangsu so as to promoteofficial cooperation with private exchanges. In this process, JAFIE hashighlighted its characteristics and contributed to the construction of theintersection of the “Belt and Road”.

PresidentLin added: “We are pleased to see that Jiangsu University, as a standingdirector unit of JAFIE, has continued to make efforts and contributions inserving the overall diplomatic situation of China and Jiangsu’s policy ofopening-up to the outside world. Now it has become an important force andprecious resource to promote the construction of the intersection of the ‘Beltand Road’ and played an important role in the non-governmental exchanges withforeign countries in Jiangsu.”

PresidentLin was accompanied by Comrades in charge of the secretariat of JAFIE.
