The delegation of JAFIE led by Teng Yong, Executive Vice President of JAFIE, embarks on a friendly exchange mission to Kenya and Egypt

In order to further deepen economic, cultural, and educational exchanges between Jiangsu Province and African countries and inject new vitality into Jiangsu Province’s foreign relations, an expedition was recently undertaken by JAFIE and partial of its directors for friendly exchanges to Kenya and Egypt for a ten-day friendly exchange visit. The delegation was led by Mr. Teng Yong, Executive Vice President of JAFIE, accompanied by Mr. Guo Minwen, former Deputy Director of Jiangsu Provincial People’s Congress Committee on Ethnic and Overseas Chinese Affairs, and Mr. Qian Zengde, Overseas Director of JAFIE and Vice Chairman of the China General Chamber of Commerce in East Africa.

In Kenya, the delegation was warmly welcomed by the local government, local people, and the Jiangsu Chamber of Commerce in Kenya. They engaged in in-depth discussions with Kenyan counterparts and local enterprises, exploring possibilities for cooperation in various fields, including trade, technology, education, and tourism, etc. Additionally, the delegation visited local wildlife conservation areas to deepen their understanding of Kenya’s natural environment and its effortsmade in ecological conservation.

In Egypt, the delegation engaged in extensive discussions with relevant Egyptian authorities, business representatives, and scholars. Both parties held in-depth conversations on how to strengthen cooperation between the two regions in areas such as trade, new energy, and technology. Additionally, the delegation visited Egypt's historical and cultural heritage sites, including the pyramids and museums, etc., gaining a deeper understanding of Egypt's profound history and culture.

This friendly exchange initiative has not only strengthened the friendship between Jiangsu Province and African countries but has also opened up new avenues for Jiangsu Province’s foreign relations. In the future, JAFIE will continue to actively organize such activities, serving as a bridge to facilitate cooperation between Jiangsu and African countries in areas like trade, culture, education, and tourism, etc. The association will continue to contribute to the “Belt and Road” initiative, promoting shared development, consolidating and enhancing friendship between African countries and Jiangsu Province, as well as benefiting the people of both parties.
